Ramadan, Qurbani and Winter Kits
SUROVI’s Ramadan and Qurbani Program is among its most impactful humanitarian initiatives, designed to support the poorest and most vulnerable families during two of the most significant occasions in the Muslim calendar. Additionally, many impoverished families are unable to afford warm clothing during winter, leaving children and elderly people particularly vulnerable to cold-related illnesses, including respiratory problems.

Ramadan Support:
Ramadan is a month of spiritual devotion, fasting, and sharing. However, for ultra-poor families who already struggle to meet their daily food needs, the month can become even more challenging. To address this hardship, SUROVI provides nutritious Ramadan food packages that support vulnerable families throughout the fasting period. The Ramadan package typically includes rice, lentils,...
, oil, sugar, dates, chickpeas, powdered milk, salt, vermicelli, eggs, fresh meat, polao rice, and other essential dry food items.
Qurbani Fresh Meat Distribution:
During Qurbani, SUROVI distributes fresh meat among the poorest families who are unable to afford Qurbani and are often deprived of the rare opportunity to enjoy meat. Through the distribution of essential food items in Ramadan and fresh meat during the Qurbani festival, SUROVI’s support directly helps reduce hunger, improve nutrition, and strengthen the dignity and resilience of impoverished households.
Winter Kits:
Winter Kits provides essential protection to the poorest families during the cold season. By distributing warm clothing, blankets and other winter essentials, the program helps reduce health risks such as colds, flu and respiratory infections especially among children, elderly people and women. The support ensures that vulnerable households can stay warm, maintain their daily activities and avoid additional financial burdens for winter necessities. Overall, the program strengthens community resilience and reduces seasonal vulnerability among marginalized families.
